BRITTEN-NORMAN GIVES GREEN LIGHT TO UK AEROSPACE MANUFACTURING - Britten-Norman

New manufacturing jigs are in place at Britten-Norman's Bembridge facility in preparation for production output increase

UK aircraft manufacturer Britten-Norman reveals plans to increase production rates and to repatriate aircraft production to its historic home in Bembridge on the Isle of Wight. The move is a major change for the British SME which has been manufacturing its aircraft in Eastern Europe since the late 1960s.

Australian 9th Sqn will be equipped with MQ4C Tritons, complementing Air Force’s P-8A Poseidon.

9 Squadron will reform in 92 Wing Surveillance and Response Group. The headquarters will be located at RAAF Base Edinburgh and most Triton operations will occur from RAAF Base Tindal.

Triton will form part of Australia's maritime intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capability, complementing Air Force's P-8A Poseidon.
