Singapore Air Show – Day One

Tim Robinson and Bill Read report from the first trade day at the 2016 Singapore Air Show on 16 February.

The first official trade day saw cooler temperatures promised than the previous day, but it soon heated up out on the tarmac as visitors flooded outside to check out the static line or watch the flying display. However, while the day was extremely busy with a number of press conferences and almost every stand packed with official delegations, VIPs and top brass, the end of the day taxi wait saw some people fuming after extended queuing of more than an hour. The decision by show organisers to ban pre-booked taxis and Uber cars was not, it seems a popular one.
