press release

Airbus Defence and Space Finland and the Finnish Defence Forces Logistics Command have signed a partnership agreement for lifecycle maintenance and training services to support the Finnish Defence Forces’ situational awareness and cyber security systems.

The new agreement is part of Finland’s overarching framework for crisis preparedness and support of critical systems. Initiated back in 2010, this long-term cooperation has enabled Airbus to build strong competencies in developing and integrating top-notch technologies that help to guarantee the security of supply in Finland.

The new contract enables a closer collaboration between the Finnish Defence Forces and Airbus Defence and Space in the field of maintenance and development of Finland’s national defence systems.

“The Finnish Defence Forces is our long-standing and valued customer. This new partnership agreement is very important to us as it illustrates confidence in Airbus, its products and services. It will support the development of our key competences that are critical for Finland’s security of supply”, comments Vesa Arkko, Director for Defence solutions in Finland.

“This partnership acknowledges the importance of the relationship between the Finnish Defence Forces and Airbus in Finland, and is a major step in meeting priorities for the national defence system by helping us to support the customer even better”, says Jaakko Sirén, Head of Key Accounts Northern Europe, Airbus Defence and Space.
