A Closer Look at Space Debris: Lockheed Martin and Electro Optic Systems Break Ground on Australian Space Tracking Site
New ground site to improve space situational awareness for commercial and government operators
CANBERRA, Australia Dec. 1, 2015 – Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) and Electro Optic Systems Pty Ltd (ASX: EOS) have broken ground on a new space object tracking facility in Australia that aims to provide commercial and government customers an unprecedented view of orbital space debris fields.
It is estimated that there are hundreds of thousands of debris objects in orbit, ranging from spent rocket parts to pieces of defunct satellites. These objects pose a major threat to satellites in orbit that power everything from smartphones and weather prediction to national security and global financial markets. The new space object tracking site will give satellite operators a clearer picture of the debris that could damage their networks, and how they can avoid potential collisions.
"The expansion of space debris tracking by EOS and Lockheed Martin is expected to make a significant contribution to the preservation of the space environment, by providing data which will enable cost-effective debris manoeuvre for satellites,” said Mark Valerio, Lockheed Martin vice president and general manager of Military Space. “The accuracy of our optical sensor network, combined with an ability to reschedule tracking operations according to commercial priorities, will provide a trusted source of critical space data to commercial and government operators.”
The network developed by EOS and Lockheed Martin, called Optical Space Services (OSSTM), was formed in August 2014. Sensor systems like OSSTM serve as a complement to radar-based systems like the U.S. Air Force’s Space Fence, which will sweep the sky tracking 200,000 objects.
“The strategic collaboration with Lockheed Martin has allowed a critical mass of sensors, data and services to be assembled, enabling OSSTM to deliver the suite of asset protection services requested by customers,” said Dr. Ben Greene, EOS Chief Executive Officer. “This new tracking capacity will provide unique data which is exclusively available to EOS and Lockheed Martin, enabling each organisation to offer both data and services to meet global market needs. Based on current contracts and active negotiations, EOS expects to commence the delivery of data and services by late 2016.”
Sensors, lasers and optic systems will be fused together by software enabling OSSTM to hone-in on, characterise and track human-made objects orbiting the depths of space. That data will then be quickly and accurately delivered to customers allowing them to manoeuvre satellites and prevent collisions. The system can also predict the paths of debris, giving operators advance warning of potential collisions.

Unmanned K-MAX helicopter, Stalker XE small unmanned aircraft system (UAS), and UAS Traffic Management (UTM) systems work together to extinguish fire
ROME, N.Y., Dec. 2, 2015 – Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) demonstrated its ability to integrate unmanned aircraft system (UAS) operations into the National Airspace System (NAS) using its prototype UAS Traffic Management (UTM) capabilities. During the demonstration on Nov. 18, the Stalker XE UAS provided data and a precise geolocation to the unmanned K-MAX cargo helicopter, which conducted water drops to extinguish a fire, while the UTM tracked the UAS operations and communicated with Air Traffic Control in real time.
“This demonstration represents the path forward for flying UAS in the NAS using Flight Service-based UTM capabilities to extend the technology and systems that air traffic controllers know and understand,” said Paul Engola, Vice President, Transportation & Financial Solutions. “We were able to successfully modify the existing K-MAX and Stalker XE ground control software to connect to the UTM services and conduct the firefighting mission.”
For more than 80 years, manned aircraft have supported firefighting missions during daylight hours. Because unmanned K-MAX can fly day and night, in all weather, its insertion into firefighting operations offers the potential to triple the amount of time ground firefighters can receive aerial support.
The Stalker XE UAS worked in tandem with K-MAX to identify hot spots and fire intensity with its electro-optical, infrared camera. Its stable, high definition imaging capabilities enable day and night operations. Powered by a ruggedized solid oxide fuel cell, Stalker XE achieves more than eight hours of flight endurance.

Australia says new analysis backs search area for Flight 370
Australian authorities said Thursday that new analysis confirms they've likely been searching in the right place for a missing Malaysian airliner.
Searchers have been combing a 120,000-square-kilometer (46,000-square-mile) part of the Indian Ocean since last year but have yet to turn up any trace of Flight 370. A wing flap was found in July on the other side of the Indian Ocean, washed up on remote Reunion Island.
The new analysis by an agency of the Defence Department confirmed "the highest probability" the final resting place for the plane is within the current search area, the government said in a statement.

- The cracking of a solder joint of both channel A and B resulted in loss of electrical continuity and led to RTLU (rudder travel limiter unit) failure. The existing maintenance data analysis led to unresolved repetitive faults occurring with shorter intervals. The same fault occurred 4 times during the flight.
- The flight crew action to the first 3 faults in accordance with the ECAM messages. Following the fourth fault, the FDR recorded different signatures that were similar to the FAC CB‟s being reset resulting in electrical interruption to the FAC‟s.
- The electrical interruption to the FAC caused the autopilot to disengage and the flight control logic to change from Normal Law to Alternate Law, the rudder deflecting 2° to the left resulting the aircraft rolling up to 54° angle of bank.
- Subsequent flight crew action leading to inability to control the aircraft in the Alternate Law resulted in the aircraft departing from the normal flight envelope and entering prolonged stall condition that was beyond the capability of the flight crew to recover.

Iberia Airport Services arranca hoy en el aeropuerto de Madrid con su nueva licencia por la que prestará servicios de handling de rampa a terceras compañías durante los próximos siete años.
El handling de rampa incluye gran parte de las tareas que se desarrollan alrededor de un avión durante su escala en un aeropuerto, y que van desde la carga/descarga de equipajes, a la coordinación de la limpieza, abastecimiento de combustible, reposición de catering…
Cerca de 3.000 trabajadores y 2.400 equipos
Para la prestación de los servicios de handling, Iberia cuenta en el aeropuerto de Madrid con una plantilla de cerca de 3.000 trabajadores, que prestan servicios en las áreas de atención al cliente y en rampa.
Iberia dispone también de un parque de 2.400 equipos entre autobuses, escaleras, push back, grupos eléctricos, equipos de carga, de deshielo, carros, tractores y vehículos de varios tipos.
Además, con la nueva licencia, Iberia estrenará también equipos de asistencia al avión como grupos eléctricos, autobuses, plataformas y tractores más eficientes, con los que Iberia Airport Services está reduciendo las emisiones de CO2 ligadas a sus operaciones en línea con su compromiso de protección del medio ambiente.
Más 22,5 millones de pasajeros y 93.000 vuelos
El aeropuerto de Madrid es el de mayor volumen para la unidad de negocio de aeropuertos de Iberia. En 2014, Iberia Airport Services atendió en Madrid a más de 22,5 millones de pasajeros –casi un seis por ciento más que en 2014-, y más de 93.000 vuelos de distintos clientes, entre los que se incluyen todas las aerolíneas del grupo IAG y, además, terceras compañías como Qatar Airways, Air Berlin, Air China, Turkish Airlines, Avianca, el grupo LATAM… entre otras.
Nuevas licencias de handling
En los últimos concursos de handling, Iberia Airport Services ha conseguido las licencias en 17 de los 20 concursos a los que se presentaba, y entre los que se incluyen:
· El lote 1 en el que AENA agrupó a varios aeropuertos de menos de un millón de pasajeros, entre los que se encuentran Vigo, A Coruña, Santander, San Sebastián, Vitoria, Pamplona y León.
· Otros aeropuertos agrupados en un tercer lote como Albacete, Badajoz, Córdoba, Granada, Jerez, La Palma y Melilla.
· Además de las licencias en aeropuertos de más de un millón de pasajeros: Madrid, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Málaga, Alicante, Asturias, Bilbao, Girona, Menorca, Reus, Santiago de Compostela, Tenerife Norte, Tenerife Sur, Ibiza y Gran Canaria.

Investigadores de la UPM comprueban que la aplicación de la técnica ‘Laser Shock Processing’ al tratamiento superficial de materiales metálicos mejora sus propiedades de resistencia al desgaste, la corrosión y la propagación de grietas.

Investigadores del Centro Láser de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) han aplicado la técnica denominada Laser Shock Processing (LSP) –que emplea ondas de choque generadas con láser− al tratamiento superficial de diversos materiales. En concreto, han demostrado los efectos beneficiosos de esta técnica sobre la vida útil de aceros inoxidables y aleaciones de aluminio y titanio.
La técnica LSP consigue deformar y generar tensiones permanentes en materiales metálicos, lo que mejora las propiedades de su superficie frente a la propagación de grietas por fatiga, desgaste, abrasión, corrosión química y otras condiciones de fallo. Este cambio en las propiedades superficiales hace que la técnica resulte especialmente adecuada y competitiva para el procesado futuro de materiales de la industria aeronáutica, nuclear, de automoción y biomédica.
Un equipo del Centro Láser de la UPM liderado por el profesor José Luis Ocaña ha aplicado con éxito la técnica al tratamiento de diversos componentes con el fin de mejorar su resistencia a la fatiga y alargar su vida útil. Entre las piezas ensayadas, figura una turbina y componentes empleados en las prótesis de cadera. Los investigadores han comprobado que los tratamientos LSP sobre estas piezas producen un incremento de su vida útil. Esto es un ejemplo de cómo el desarrollo y uso de modelos computacionales pueden ayudar a optimizar el diseño de procesos para solucionan problemas reales.
A pesar de la disponibilidad de la técnica LSP en determinados laboratorios, como el Centro Láser de la UPM, los desarrollos prácticos a nivel industrial necesitan todavía un cierto recorrido para alcanzar un nivel suficiente de implantación industrial y requieren de un esfuerzo previo en el desarrollo de la capacidad de diseño del proceso. En la actualidad, en el Centro Láser de la UPM trabajan en la mejora de procesos de LSP en diferentes condiciones de irradiación y en sistemas de monitorización y control del proceso que posibiliten su transferencia directa a la industria, así como en el diseño y desarrollo de modelos numéricos que permitan dar información de los valores óptimos de los diferentes parámetros del proceso.
Sobre la base de su experiencia, instalaciones y conexiones tanto a nivel nacional como internacional, el Centro Láser de la UPM constituye en este momento una unidad pionera de I+D+i en tecnologías avanzadas de fabricación y tratamiento de materiales con láser para diversos sectores industriales, así como un centro de referencia a nivel nacional para la formación y la difusión y transferencia de tecnología a la industria.

El Consejo de Ministros aprueba un Real Decreto que regula las normas de seguridad en aeródromos de uso restringido
- Estos requisitos técnicos sustituyen a la regulación actualmente vigente, establecida en la Orden Ministerial 1957/1966 de 26 de octubre de 1966
- Se establecen, además, nuevos mecanismos de cooperación y coordinación con las Comunidades Autónomas, que tienen competencias sobre estas infraestructuras
Madrid, 27 de noviembre de 2015 (Ministerio de Fomento). El Consejo de Ministros ha dado hoy luz verde a un nuevo Real Decreto por el que se regulan las normas técnicas de seguridad operacional de aeródromos de uso restringido y por el que se modifican el Real Decreto 1189/2011 y la Orden de 24 de abril de 1986.
Con esta nueva norma, aplicable a los aeródromos en los que operan la aviación deportiva, los trabajos aéreos o las enseñanzas de vuelo, es decir, actividades no comerciales, los gestores de estas instalaciones están sujetos a la obligación de cumplir condiciones de seguridad en el diseño, construcción, uso y funcionamiento de las infraestructuras que gestionan. Estos requisitos técnicos, elaborados en base a estándares internacionalmente aceptados, sustituyen a la regulación actualmente vigente, establecida en la Orden Ministerial 1957/1966 de 26 de octubre de 1966 sobre condiciones y normas para el establecimiento de aeródromos privados.
Los aeródromos de uso público, aquellos en los que se realizan operaciones de transporte aéreo comercial de pasajeros, mercancías o correo, ya disponían de normas de seguridad, tanto en el ámbito nacional
(Real Decreto 862/2009), como en el europeo (Reglamentos (CE) 216/2008 y 1108/2009 del Parlamento y el Consejo).
Nuevos mecanismos de cooperación y coordinación con CC.AA. Además de las normas técnicas de seguridad operacional, el nuevo Real Decreto establece nuevos mecanismos de cooperación y coordinación con las Comunidades Autónomas, ya que tanto estas como el Estado tienen competencias distintas sobre este tipo de instalaciones. Estos instrumentos de cooperación abarcan desde a la fase de la elaboración de normativa hasta la fase de comprobación de requisitos.

First Boeing 757 airliner landing on blue-ice runway in Antarctica
Union Glacier, Antarctica – November 26, 2015
The first ever landing of a commercial Boeing 757 passenger airliner on a blue-ice runway in Antarctica occurred today at Union Glacier. The landing was a joint partnership between Antarctic Logistics & Expeditions (ALE), Loftleidir Icelandic, and NAS Corporation Limited (NAS).
The Boeing 757-200 ER flight was undertaken to prove the feasibility of landing commercial passenger airliners at Union Glacier, as part of a larger investigation into the use of such aircraft for ALE's Antarctic operations.
Intercontinental flights for transporting passengers and cargo from Punta Arenas, Chile, to ALE's main camp at Union Glacier are usually made by combination passenger/cargo aircraft such as Lockheed Hercules L-382G and Ilyushin IL76-TD. These aircraft are tried and tested for blue-ice landings and for use in polar conditions. ALE is researching the potential for utilizing conventional passenger airliners in addition to passenger/cargo combination aircraft. The Boeing 757-200 ER, fitted with 62 business class seats, will enhance passenger comfort yet maintain the safety of ALE's activities and aircraft resources.
ALE transports 400-500 visitors to Antarctica each season, providing logistical support to many National Antarctic Programs and scientific research projects and offering guided, small group Experiences through its subsidiary Adventure Network International (ANI).
ALE's goal has always been to uphold the highest safety and environmental standards. By extending the range of aircraft that can be used to support visitors and scientific research, ALE also expands its evacuation capabilities, further ensuring safe and environmentally responsible operations.

LONG BEACH, Calif., Nov. 29, 2015 – The final Boeing [NYSE: BA] C-17 Globemaster III military airlifter at the company's plant in Long Beach, Calif. departed on Sunday, Nov. 29, marking the official end of aircraft production in Long Beach.
The airlifter flew over a crowd and the facility before heading to the company's San Antonio location, where it will remain until delivery to the Qatar Emiri Air Force early in 2016.
With the completion of C-17 production, Boeing will continue the Globemaster III legacy, providing support, maintenance and upgrades to the worldwide C-17 fleet under the C-17 Globemaster III Integrated Sustainment Program (GISP) Performance-Based Logistics agreement.
"This is truly the end of an era. It's a sad day, but one that all of the Boeing employees and suppliers who have worked over the years building this great aircraft can be proud of," said Nan Bouchard, vice president and C-17 program manager.
"Our team's work and dedication and professionalism created one of the world's leading airlifters, a plane that is at the forefront for providing humanitarian aid and has changed the way the U.S. Air Force and our international partners mobilize for operations and aeromedical support," Bouchard said.
The decision to end production of the C-17 production program was announced in 2013. Since the first C-17 took to the air on Sept. 15, 1991, the C-17 fleets for the U.S. Air Force and international partners have amassed more than three million flying hours supporting airlift of troops and large cargo, precision airdrop of humanitarian supplies and lifesaving aeromedical missions.

Having achieved first flight this month, the Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ) fulfilled a promise that dates back eight years to the Paris Air Show of June 2007: to create the first modern Japanese jet airliner. Like a number of other upcoming airframers, it's using the 70-100 seater large regional jet market to do it.
It is certainly a crowded market, but geopolitics might be on Mitsubishi's side. In the context of the ongoing frosty relationship between the Kremlin and the West that affects Russian aircraft like the Sukhoi Superjet, perception issues around Comac's ARJ21 and C919 in China, and Bombardier's well-documented issues with the CSeries, the Japanese company would appear to be one of the stronger international challengers to Embraer's dominance in the future 70-100 seater battle. Thales announces its unique Rudder Flight Control electronics system will fly on the Cessna Citation Longitude, unveiled yesterday at the NBAA Show in Las Vegas.
This innovative use of “Rudder-by-wire” is the culmination of efforts by Thales teams in developing new and better flight controls for business jets. It fulfills some of the key driving trends in the market, including weight reduction, improving safety and the comfort of passengers.
Thales teams came up with a unique solution based around a pair of Thales Smart Electronic Control Units (SECUs). These use electrical signals to augment pilot inputs from rudder pedals, and enhance the stability of the aircraft, making the flight trim smoother and allowing the pilot to better control the plane.
The use of electrical impulses allows for the complete elimination of the heavy cables and pulleys of a conventional rudder control system, thus reducing weight. The innovative use of a paired set of SECUs, serves as a self-checking mechanism allowing for better control integrity. It also makes the system more streamlined, thus optimizing production, and providing superior availability, reliability and integrity to the OEM.
Thales Canadian team, at the Montreal Centre of Excellence in flight control electronics, will develop system engineering and software based on Control Laws supplied by Cessna Aircraft Company, a subsidiary of Textron Aviation Inc., a Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) company.

Aerion Launches Factory Site Selection Process
today announced plans for the manufacture of the AS2 supersonic business jet.
“Aerion has begun a formal search for a U.S. manufacturing location,” he said.
“We’re looking for a state-of-the art campus of more than 100 acres on a major
airport with a minimum 9,000-foot runway, and other special geophysical
requirements.” Among them will be a location within 200 nautical miles of a
supersonic flight test area, most likely one offshore.
Aerion will evaluate numerous factors including: airport suitability; road and rail
infrastructure; proximity to a deep-water port for shipped structures and
equipment; local aerospace workforce; state and local regulations; quality of life;
and regional educational institutions.
The company expects to announce the location of the assembly site in the first
half of 2016 upon formal launch of the AS2 program, and break ground in 2018.
First flight of the Aerion AS2 is planned for 2021 and certification by the FAA in
2023 with entry into service that year.
Airbus Group will provide major components and Aerion will conduct final
assembly. Both companies envision a long-term relationship for ongoing
technical support. Aerion will draw on expertise from Airbus Group for
establishing the new Aerion production facility.
“Aerion’s new American home will set the standard for 21st century aerospace
manufacturing,” said Nichols.

Las Vegas, NV, NBAA – November 16, 2015 With joint engineering efforts
accelerating on the Aerion AS2 supersonic business jet program, Aerion and
Airbus Group, Inc. today announced a new agreement that will expand North
American-based Airbus Group, Inc. resources to the AS2 program. Support from
Airbus Group operations in North America will include engineering, procurement
and supply chain management, logistics planning, program management, and
government relations. These new resources will augment engineering support
from Airbus Defence and Space (AIRBUS D&S) in Spain.
“The collaboration between Aerion and Airbus Group has been extremely
beneficial and productive,” said Allan McArtor, Chairman and CEO of Airbus
Group, Inc. “The further we proceed along the development path with Aerion,
the greater our enthusiasm for this program and the deeper our commitment.
Under our new agreement, our two companies are working as one to bring
Aerion’s supersonic AS2 to the business jet market,” he added.
“This undertaking is completely in line with Airbus Group’s legacy of developing
innovations in flight,” said McArtor, “such as our current work on the Perlan
Mission II glider - the world’s first engineless aircraft designed to reach the edge
of space - which made its successful first flight recently, and the E-Fan
technology demonstrator - which this summer became the first fully electric,
twin-engine aircraft taking off under its own power to fly across the English
Channel.”
“Airbus Group has a long history of supporting innovation, and Aerion’s
innovative aerodynamic technology unquestionably offers long-term benefits
to the industry in terms of performance and efficiency,” said Doug Nichols,
Aerion CEO.
Engineering progress report
At the one-year anniversary of the Aerion/Airbus Group collaboration, the two
companies drew back the curtains on engineering efforts that have proceeded
quietly, but steadily, since the first joint engineering team meeting in 2014.
Airbus Defence and Space has made significant progress in the engineering of
airframe structures, the AS2’s digital (fly-by-wire) flight control system, its
integrated fuel system, and landing gear. Notable accomplishments include
preliminary designs for:
• A strong and light 10-spar carbon fiber wing structure;
• Fuselage and empennage structures;
• An innovative articulating main landing gear system that minimizes space
requirements in the fuselage when stowed/retracted;
• A fuel system that is integrated with the digital fly-by-wire system for
control of center of gravity;
• Flight control design that takes advantage of small, powerful actuators that
can be housed in the AS2’s thin flying surfaces;
• A fly-by-wire system based on Airbus Group’s long experience with digital
flight control technology.
To supplement the design process, AIRBUS D&S has built a sample titanium
wing leading-edge section for evaluation and is testing composite material
specimens to optimize material properties.
Aerion is the lead for other systems, such as avionics, electrical, environmental
control, hydraulics, and auxiliary power. In conjunction with AIRBUS D&S,
Aerion had made preliminary space allocations for every system with weight and
balance considerations in mind. Candidate suppliers have been identified and the
supplier selection process has begun.
September joint design review highlights engineering progress
This past September, senior engineering staff from Aerion, AIRBUS D&S, Airbus
Group, Inc., and other tier-one equipment suppliers gathered at Aerion
headquarters in Reno for a four-day technical and program review, covering
engineering accomplished to date on all structures and aircraft systems.
“The results of this comprehensive quarterly review were nothing short of
excellent,” said Ken McKenzie, Senior Vice President for Strategy and Corporate
Development at Airbus Group, Inc. “We see clear and achievable technical
solutions to the design of a supersonic jet, and a realistic roadmap for helping
Aerion proceed toward construction and flight.”
“The take-away from the design review and the effort this past year,” said
Aerion Senior Vice President for Aircraft Development Mike Hinderberger, “is
that we have moved out of the conceptual design phase into commercializing
Aerion technology.
We are doing the engineering work today that will allow us to build and fly a
supersonic jet at the turn of the next decade.”
Engine selection nearing
“We are targeting the first half of 2016 to select a propulsion system, which will
enable us to formally launch the program shortly thereafter,” reported Nichols.
Aerion is planning on a first flight of the AS2 in 2021 and entry into service
in 2023, following FAA certification. EASA certification would follow closely
thereafter.
Aerion has identified existing core engines suitable for adaptation to the needs
of supersonic flight. “We will proceed with an engine that allows us to meet our
performance goals with the minimum changes required,” said Nichols. “Aerion
is focused on an engine solution that meets Stage 4 noise standards while
preserving long-range supersonic performance. This is a significant challenge
with a low-bypass supersonic engine, but solutions are in sight with today’s
engine technology.”
Aerion will bring to market a supersonic jet that operates efficiently within
today’s regulatory environment, including rules regarding supersonic flight over
land. This takes advantage of the ability of the AS2 to operate efficiently just
below the speed of sound at Mach 0.95 to 0.98, and at speeds up to Mach 1.5 over
water and other areas where supersonic flight is permitted.
A win-win collaboration
In September 2014 Aerion and Airbus Group announced their technology
collaboration. That relationship was conceived as a two-way street, with Airbus
Group receiving exclusive access to Aerion high-speed technology as well as
Aerion proprietary software for analyzing high-speed airflow and for airframe
optimization. The collaboration brings a full spectrum of engineering disciplines
to design, build, and certify the AS2 business jet. This latest agreement will
expand that support beyond the engineering of the aircraft and into its
commercialization for the business jet community.
“This is Aerion’s jet and Aerion’s program, with substantial benefits accruing to
Airbus Group,” said McKenzie. “We gain new technology and tools, and through
our collaboration will be expanding engineering knowledge and refining
processes suchas digital manufacturing. The AS2 program will be an incubator for innovation in
design, engineering, and manufacturing.”
Airbus Group will provide major components and Aerion will conduct final
assembly in the U.S. Both companies envision a long-term relationship for
ongoing technical support.

Broader service centre network extends customer care
Airbus is enhancing the way that it cares for corporate jet customers and operators around the world, by expanding the capabilities and reach of its service centre network.
The expanded network comprises companies that are owned or controlled by Airbus, as well as independent ones that it has approved. Its capabilities will include line and heavy maintenance, cabin-refurbishing, and cabin and system upgrades.
The Service Centre network currently comprises the Airbus Corporate Jet Centre (ACJC) in Toulouse, Sepang Aircraft Engineering (SAE) in Malaysia, and the first independent member, Comlux America in Indianapolis. It will grow to include others in the coming months.
The network includes the provision of turnkey services, enabling customers to benefit from Airbus quality and standards – as well as peace of mind. It complements Airbus' leadership in turnkey cabin-outfitting of large business jets, where it is unique in having extensive experience.
"We already deliver comprehensive support, as well as robust reliability, and this latest expansion goes a step further in caring for, and responding to, the particular needs of the business aviation community worldwide," says Benoit Defforge, Managing Director, Airbus Corporate Jets.
Airbus corporate jet customers already have access to support and services tailored to their needs, such as single-point-of-contact access to the corporate jet customer care centre (C4you) team, dedicated customer support directors, training and customised maintenance programmes.
They also benefit from the technical advice, spares and training network that spans the globe, around the clock, in support of Airbus' more than 500 customers and operators.
More than 170 Airbus corporate jets are in service around the world, and they are flying on every continent, including Antarctica.
Beechcraft AT-6 Wolverine completes NATO’s Ample Strike exercise
Beechcraft Defense Company, LLC, a Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) company, has announced its Beechcraft AT-6 Wolverine light attack and reconnaissance aircraft successfully participated in its first North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) exercise. The Wolverine recently completed Exercise Ample Strike, a multinational air-land-integration exercise hosted in the Czech Republic to train NATO Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTACs) with live-flying exercises.
As part of Ample Strike, the Wolverine participated in seven operational missions that included 35 successful engagements of live adversary forces, complete with live firing, artillery, helicopter forward arming and refueling points, smoke and kinetic blanks.
“This was an important mission for the Beechcraft Wolverine: it was the first participation in a major day/night operational exercise, as well as the first overseas operational demonstration,” said Russ Bartlett, president, Beechcraft Defense Company. “The Wolverine was a crowd-pleaser both in the NATO exercise and the demonstration flights we conducted while in the region. This was a great opportunity to highlight the aircraft’s purpose-built capability, affordability, sustainability and interoperability for the most demanding of scenarios.”

(NYSE:TXT) company, today debuted its new Cessna Citation Longitude business jet at NBAA’s Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition in Las Vegas. The company also announced it plans to enter the large business jet category with the clean sheet, 4,500-nautical mile Citation Hemisphere. The Longitude and Hemisphere will join the Citation Latitude to complete a new, large-cabin, three-aircraft Citation family.
