Francia habría solicitado a España el uso de la Base Aérea de Gando como plataforma logística para los aviones de su Fuerza Aérea:

Según publica el diario la Provincia, el Gobierno francés habría iniciado contactos extraoficiales con el español para utilizar la Base Aérea de Gando, en Gran Canaria, como plataforma logística para la intervención militar que lidera en Malí.

AESA no deja que vuelen los 787 por los problemas con las baterias

Un portavoz de la AESA, con sede en Colonia, oeste de Alemania, señaló que la agencia europea se suma así a la decisión tomada ayer por la Agencia Federal de Aviación (FAA) de Estados Unidos. Al igual que la FAA, la AESA quiere revisar el potencial riesgo de fuego asociado a las baterías del 787 y requiere a los operadores que temporalmente cesen las actividades con estas aeronaves, la gran apuesta de Boeing por competir frente a Airbus. También las autoridades de Japón e India han abierto investigaciones sobre los fallos detectados en los aparatos.

Airbus remodela la dirección de Airbus España



Airbus Operations (Airbus España), acaba de anunciar los nuevos máximos responsables de la compañía.

Dentro del nuevo organigrama de Airbus, ha desaparecido la figura del director general para España y en su lugar se han nombrado tres jefes de planta que serán los máximos resposables, reportando directamente al director de Producción de Airbus, Mario Heinen, en Toulouse.

NTSB official to assist ANA 787 investigation



The US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is sending an official to Japan to assist in the investigation of the emergency landing of an All Nippon Airways (ANA) Boeing 787. The incident involved a battery indicator message while the aircraft was at 30,000 ft.; ANA said it was later discovered the aircraft’s main battery had leaked.

According to NTSB, “Initial reports indicate that the crew received multiple messages in the cockpit concerning the battery and other systems that were affected, and also reported smoke in the cockpit and an odor in the cabin.”

In the meantime, ANA and Japan Airlines (JAL) have temporarily suspended operations of their Boeing 787 fleets following the latest incident.

US-Europe alliance confirmed for Orion manned craft

NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) have put more detail on their agreement for ESA to build the service module for NASA's Orion crew exploration vehiicle. The €450 deal involves ESA using heritage ATV hardware to construct the service module that will allow crew to travel to and from cis-lunar space. This will be part of a barter arrangement in which its fees ESA owned NASA for ESA's use of the International Space Station will be waived.
