International magazine, entails a row of inward facing seats on each
side of the aircraft plus two back-to-back rows down the middle

Boeing Advanced Tactical Laser Strikes Moving Target in Test

 
During the test, the C-130H aircraft took off from Kirtland Air Force Base near Albuquerque and fired a high-power chemical laser through its beam control system while flying over White Sands Missile Range. The beam control system guided the laser beam's energy to the unoccupied, remotely controlled target, striking the vehicle and putting a hole in a fender. The test demonstrated the ability to aim and fire a high-energy laser beam at a moving target.

According to Dickerson, U.S.-based companies will account for more than 60 per cent of the market's value. However, western European countries and Israel are keeping up with the pace and spawning domestic development of such systems, which in some cases could already achieve more or less significant export successes (particularly Israel) with their industrial solutions. With respect to the obvious boom of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) development and export programmes in western countries, China, as much as Russia, still lag somewhat behind.

Hydrogen-Powered Navy UAV Shatters Flight Endurance Record

 
Flying out of the Aberdeen Proving Ground, the Ion Tiger UAV set a new record for hydrogen-powered flight by staying aloft for 23 hours and 17 minutes. This places close to the 30-36 hour endurance of the Tiger's gas guzzling Predator and Reaper cousins.

US Army Replaces 1950s-Vintage Chute

 
 
 
The US Army is paying up to $200 million to buy between 45,000 and 50,000 T-11 parachutes from 3 firms: Aerostar International in Sioux Falls, SD (W911QY-09-D-0036), Airborne Systems North America [PDF] in Santa Ana, CA (W911QY-10-D-0003), and BAE Systems in Phoenix, AZ (W911QY-10-D-0001).
 
The new parachute features several improvements over the T-10: an upgraded harness that fits the smallest and largest soldiers and allows integration with modern equipment; a 28% larger more, stable canopy that enables a 49% slower rate of descent [...]
