The Mitsubishi Aircraft MRJ program began taxi tests on June 8, in which the Japanese regional jet moved under its own power for the first time. The taxiing tests will be performed to confirm braking at low speeds and direction-control steering, said Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, the chief shareholder in Mitsubishi Aircraft. Mitsubishi Aircraft and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) are conducting the test at Nagoya Airport, where the latter company has a final assembly line.
