Led by Airbus with Leonardo as co-lead, it unites a 53-member consortium across 12 EU states to advance two architectures: the Racer-derived compound rotorcraft and a tilt-rotor concept. The programme also targets AI-driven cognitive cockpits, crewed–uncrewed teaming, secure cyber-communications, and resilient logistics, aiming to replace and augment fleets after 2040 and maintain Europe's vertical-lift edge.
