UAE announced as first export customer for Hammerhead UAV - Flightglobal

The General Headquarters of the United Arab Emirates Armed Force (GHQ) today announced the signature of a contract with Abu Dhabi Autonomous Systems Investments (ADASI) for the acquisition of eight P.1HH HammerHead aircraft, state-of-the-art multipurpose Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), designed and developed by Piaggio Aerospace.

All the aircraft will be equipped with EO/IR (Electro-Optical Infra-Red) cameras, radar and advanced communications systems. Part of the contract is also the integrated logistic support, including training.

The total contract value amounts to AED 1,327 million (€316 million).

Speaking at the Unmanned Systems Exhibition and Conference in Abu Dhabi, Mr Carlo Logli, CEO of Piaggio Aerospace, said:

"This important contract recognizes Piaggio Aerospace's efforts in establishing a world-class military program and state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities that position the business for long-term sustainable success."

Airbus Helicopters lanza la comercialización del H160





Marignane, Francia- 8 de marzo de 2015. Airbus Helicopters lanzó la comercialización del nuevo helicóptero H160 en el mayor salón dedicado al helicóptero- Heli-Expo, que se celebró la semana pasada en Louisville, USA.

«La respuesta del público al H160 ha sido fantástica y hemos iniciado conversaciones con los clientes sobre distintas configuraciones de misión para el H160», ha explicado Guillaume Faury, CEO de Airbus Helicopters, y añadió que «el desarrollo de este nuevo programa está muy avanzando con dos prototipos de vuelo y un tercero en construcción, lo que significa que pronto podremos confirmar los detalles del rendimiento de los helicópteros que resultan esenciales para nuestros clientes».

Con un 20 % más de horas de vuelo al mes que los desarrollos previos en la misma fase gracias a los bancos de prueba en tierra denominados «System Helicopter 0» y «Dynamic Helicopter 0», el primer prototipo (PT1) acumula ya cerca de 100 horas. El segundo prototipo (PT2), que fue lanzado el 27 de enero, ha iniciado pruebas de vuelo propulsado por el motor Arrano de Turbomeca. El tercer prototipo (PT3) se unirá a sus homólogos en 2017.

El H160 liderará un nuevo modelo industrial, con mejora de la competitividad y la satisfacción del cliente y con un ensamblaje final realizado en 18 semanas en vez de las 36 de la generación anterior. Después de la colaboración con Latécoère Services para una línea de ensamblaje final integrada y de última generación cuya primera estación se pondrá en funcionamiento a finales de 2016, el H160 está poniéndose a punto para empezar a ser producido en serie. Esta línea de flujo en movimiento automatizado estará compuesta de dos líneas de producción, cada una de ellas equipada con varias estaciones de trabajo capaces de ensamblar las distintas configuraciones del H160.

Airbus Helicopters ha asociado a operadores clave para el proceso MSG-3 dirigido por la Agencia Europea de Seguridad Aérea (AESA), de forma que se han cuestionado todos los requisitos de mantenimiento e inspección y los intervalos; y el programa de mantenimiento resultante reducirá significativamente la carga del mantenimiento y mejorará la disponibilidad de las aeronaves. El H160 será tan fácil de mantener como un helicóptero ligero bimotor.

Boeing and Paramount to Collaborate on Light Multi-role Aircraft
Builds on 2014 agreement to jointly develop defense and security opportunities in key international markets

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates, March 8, 2016 – Boeing [NYSE: BA] and the Paramount Group, the South Africa-based global defense and aerospace business, have expanded their 2014 agreement to cooperate on an advanced mission system for a variant of the Advanced, High Performance, Reconnaissance, Light Aircraft (AHRLAC).

A high-wing, two-seat aircraft, AHRLAC is designed to incorporate advanced intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities and weapons systems.
