Highlights of MRO Americas
// Things With Wings

Thanks to all of the speakers, attendees, exhibitors and sponsors of MRO Americas in Phoenix. It was great to see so many of you last week.

FYI, you can still view our MRO Americas coverage (including live posts from several conference sessions--including the ones with FAA Association Administrator Peggy Gilligan, the MRO forecasts, additive manufacturing and Pratt & Whitney Aftermarket President Matthew Bromberg) for a few more days.

I welcome your feedback on the event--as well as what you'd like to see next year at MRO Americas in Miami April 14-16.

Companies made several announcements during the event, including:

AFI KLM E&M is creating a Miami-based center, named AAF Spares, dedicated to asset management operations in the Americas.

Aircelle will provide engine nacelle support services for Interjet's growing fleet of Sukhoi Superjet 100s, as well as nacelle support for Hawaiian Airlines' Airbus A330s.

AJW Aviation extended a component support agreement with Viva Aerobus and a repair and consignment agreement with Aviation Technical Services.

Boeing announced its is centralizing customer support of in-service aircraft at its design center in Southern California. Support for legacy McDonnell Douglas aircraft already is there--and 737, 747, 767 and 777 model support will transfer there by the end of 2015.

Boeing Australia selected GE ClearCore engine wash for the Royal Australian Air Force's E-7A Wedgetail fleet.

Hawaiian Airlines expanded its 767 integrated component support agreement with Delta TechOps.

Lufthansa Technik is opening an MRO hangar in Puerto Rico and signed an MRO and logistics services contract for CFM56-7B with Travel Service.

MTU Maintenance launched MTU Plus Mature Engine Solutions, which is targeted at airlines and lessors that want solutions to maximize service life and life-cycle management.

Mxi Technologies released a MRO version of its Maintenix software, and Saab signed a teaming agreement with Mxi for military fleet management.

Nordam and GE Capital Aviation Services' Asset Management Services unit are partnering to provide flight control parts and repairs.

Southwest Airlines selected BAE Systems to provide FADEC maintenance.

StandardAero announced it has completed 36 qualified TRUEngine overahuls.

VAS Aero Services partnered with Tarmac Aerosave to partner on onsite storage and parts distribution.

Wencor Group acquired XTRA Aerospace, an FAA and EASA Part 145 repair station in Mirimar, Fla., to continue its repair services offerings.
