Europe’s Future Combat Air System: on the way to the first flight

On behalf of the governments of France, Germany and Spain, the French General Directorate for Armament (DGA) has awarded to Dassault Aviation, Airbus, Indra, Eumet and their industrial partners the contract for the Demonstrator Phase 1B of the Future Combat Air System (FCAS). This landmark contract, amounting to € 3.2 billion, will cover work on the FCAS demonstrator and its components for about three and a half years.

Adjudicación del contrato para la siguiente fase del proyecto NGWS/FCAS

El contrato que pone en marcha la siguiente fase del proyecto NGWS/FCAS ha sido adjudicado el 15 de diciembre a Dassault Aviation, Airbus Defense and Space GmbH y Airbus Defense and Space SAU, Indra y Eumet (Joint Venture entre Safran Aircraft Engines y MTU Aero Engines).

Este contrato, valorado en unos 8.000 millones de euros, tendrá por objeto preparar y realizar las demostraciones de los distintos sistemas del NGWS. Uno de los principales hitos de estas demostraciones será el primer vuelo del demostrador del New Generation Fighter (avión de combate de nueva generación).

"San Javier, ciudad del aire", celebró ayer domingo una Jornada Aeronáutica, con un día de puertas abiertas en el aeródromo Los Garranchos, donde desde las diez de la mañana, se fueron sucediendo las actividades entre las que destacó la de aeroestación. El público pudo disfrutar de los globos estáticos que ofrecían un panorama lo más parecido al vuelo con ultraligeros que también se pudieron admirar de cerca. El vuelo de las aves, con una muestra de cetrería animó un programa que incluía actividades de aeromodelismo, teatro infantil y la exposición Autogiro "Alas de Genio", dedicada a Juan de la Cierva. El recinto de Los Garranchos, sirvió como punto de encuentro para otras actividades como la tradicional exhibición de vehículos clásicos o la también tradicional jornada de puertas abiertas y demostraciones del servicio de Protección Civil. Unas migas para una mañana que empezó lluviosa y una paella gigante a medio día sirvieron para reponer fuerzas entre el público visitante que tuvo al Ayuntamiento de San Javier y los miembros del Aeroclub Mar Menor como anfitriones.
