Eurocopter delivered the first of six EC145s ordered to date by the Kazakh Ministries of Defense and Emergencies. A total of 45 of the helicopters are to be purchased, and will be assembled by the new joint venture Eurocopter Kazakhstan Engineering, in which Eurocopter and Kazakhstan Engineering have a 50/50 share.
This initial delivery comes on the heels of the industrial cooperation and distribution contract signed last June by Eurocopter CEO Lutz Bertling and President of Kazakhstan Engineering Bolat Smagulov, in the presence of the French and Kazakh prime ministers François Fillon and Karim Massimov, respectively.
The new joint venture, Eurocopter Kazakhstan Engineering, will be assembling and customizing EC145s at its facilities near the Astana International Airport in Kazakhstan. The company will also enable Eurocopter to provide its customers in Kazakhstan and Central Asia with better local services for helicopter maintenance as well as training for pilots and technicians. In addition, Eurocopter Kazakhstan Engineering will be pursuing sales activities throughout the region.

Eurocopter has inaugurated its new logistics platform at its industrial site in Marignane, marking the end to an innovative program to re-engineer the Group’s entire logistics chain and implement a flexible, high-performance tool. The investments made over the past two years to develop modern means will enable Eurocopter to reduce both logistics costs and delivery cycles, so that the company’s assembly lines, customers and industrial partners will all be receiving their parts much faster.
The program was launched two years ago with an ambitious goal: to reorganize the entire logistics chain based on two dedicated platforms. The incoming flows and industrial logistics have now been centralized at the plant in Marignane, while the outgoing flows and spare part deliveries have all been grouped together at a brand-new platform located close by at the Florides industrial park.
To ensure that its operators around the world could receive their spares in record time, Eurocopter worked together with its partners to build a new infrastructure, Eurocopter Global Logistic, in the Florides industrial park near the Marignane plant. The new logistics center, which opened its doors last June, boasts some impressive numbers: 53,500 square meters of floor space, an inventory of more than 1.5 million spare parts, and more than 300,000 parts shipped per year. The platform is now fully operational and houses all the Group’s logistics activities within a specially-designed unit offering 24/7 services.
In parallel, the industrial logistics chain was also reorganized, and the Marignane plant now manages all incoming flows and industrial logistics activities. Two automated warehouses have been set up that together have the capacity to store a total of 180,000 parts—a first in Europe.
“When we undertook this huge project to overhaul our logistics chain, our biggest challenge was to keep providing our customers with the same high levels of services—plus we couldn’t allow our work to have any impact on the production lines,” explained Joseph Saporito, Executive Vice President of the Global Supply Chain at the Eurocopter Group. “We completed the job right on schedule, and are already beginning to reap the benefits in terms of customer satisfaction and competitiveness. The key to our success was excellent teamwork—between the different sectors here at Eurocopter, and also with our long-time partner Daher.”
It should not be long before the bold decision taken two years ago in a difficult economic context pays off. Boeing Receives $20 Million Contract to Upgrade F-15C Trainers
Cutting-edge visual system will provide 360 degrees of immersive training
ST. LOUIS, Nov. 29, 2011 -- The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] received a $20 million contract in September from the U.S. Air Force to upgrade the visual systems in the F-15C Mission Training Centers. Twelve MTCs, located at Langley Air Force Base, Va., Royal Air Force Lakenheath, United Kingdom, and Kadena Air Base, Japan, will be upgraded with Boeing’s Constant Resolution Visual System (CRVS).
CRVS is the centerpiece of a complete training suite that provides 360 degrees of immersive training, with a significantly lower cost than previous visual systems. By using standard, off-the-shelf projectors, the system is able to take advantage of the rapidly improving technology emerging in the commercial marketplace.
“A key feature of the CRVS is the ability to train with the Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System and night vision goggles, both of which will be used in the F-15C MTC,” said Mark McGraw, Boeing vice president for Training Systems & Services.
The Boeing CRVS reduces total system life cycle cost by minimizing the number of projectors by one-third to one-half the number of projectors used in competing systems. The system is compatible with a full array of fast jet and rotary wing cockpits.
"CRVS is unique because it is the only system to provide constant resolution throughout the field of view,” added McGraw. “It eliminates a key problem with other systems, where the visibility of targets varies depending on where the pilot looks. Our design provides increased performance, yet is simple in concept.”
Installation of the F-15C visual systems will begin in October 2012 and will be completed by January 2013, allowing training to start by the end of that month.

The Eurofighter Typhoon will be flying across the skies of Langkawi for the first time as a UK Royal Air Force aircraft participates in one of the most important global defence and security shows, LIMA 2011, which takes place in Langkawi, Malaysia, from 6-10 December.
Just a few days after particpating at the Dubai Air Show and with aircraft still in Malaysia following Exercise BERSAMA LIMA, the Typhoon will excite the crowds with displays demonstrating its incredible agility and speed.
Four RAF Typhoon aircraft from 6 Squadron flew from their base in Scotland to the Royal Malaysian Air Force airbase in Butterworth, Malaysia to take part in Exercise BERSAMA LIMA marking the 40th Anniversary of the Five Powers Defence Arrangement (FPDA), and whilst in the region wanted to reflect the importance of the air force to air force relationship by attending this prestigious exhibition.
Eurofighter Typhoon is the world’s most advanced multi-role combat aircraft. It meets current and future fast combat air needs and provides best-in-class combat effectiveness and operational flexibility. The Typhoon is capable of being deployed in the full spectrum of air operations from air policing and peace support, through to high intensity conflict. Typhoon aircraft have recently been deployed on operations and have performed exceptionally well, demonstrating outstanding levels of availability and maintainability.

Information imagery includes aircraft’s flight parameters, weapons status and aiming all projected on the HEA (Helmet Equipment Assembly) visor.

November 25 2011, Moscow — Aeroflot’s Sukhoi Superjet 100 fleet accumulated 1,000 commercial flights. The jubilee flight SU824 was performed by the aircraft named after Mikhail Vodopyanov (RA 89003, MSN 95008) on route St Petersburg — Moscow on November 23, 2011. The SSJ100 fleet of Aeroflot scored nearly 1,600 flight hours.

We see that the SSJ100 is becoming an excellent tool for the development of the Aeroflot regional network. Aeroflot currently operates three SSJ100 aircraft which serve routes from Moscow to St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Astrakhan, Chelyabinsk, Kazan and Minsk. These aircraft will also start to serve international routes of the airline this year. Aeroflot’s operations confirm that the aircraft is able to serve efficiently regional routes with the high frequency of departure.
Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) is a 100 seat regional jet designed, developed and built by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC), in partnership with Alenia Aeronautica. On May 19th 2008 SSJ100 successfully accomplished its first flight. The Sukhoi Superjet 100 cruises at a Maximum Operating Speed of Mach 0.81 and 40,000 feet. It takes off from a 1,731 meters runway in the basic range and 2,052 meters in the long range. The operating range for the basic version is 3,048 km and 4,578 km for the long range version. In February 2011, the SSJ100 obtained the Type Certificate by the Russian Certification Authority IAC AR. The EASA certification is expected to follow in 2011. On April 19th 2011 first production SSJ100 was delivered to Armavia airlines (Armenia). There are currently four SSJ100s in service with Armavia and Aeroflot.

Aeroflot currently operates three SSJ100 aircraft which serve routes from Moscow to St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Astrakhan, Chelyabinsk, Kazan and Minsk. These aircraft will also start to serve international routes of the airline this year. Aeroflot’s operations confirm that the aircraft is able to serve efficiently regional routes with the high frequency of departure.
Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) is a 100 seat regional jet designed, developed and built by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC), in partnership with Alenia Aeronautica. On May 19th 2008 SSJ100 successfully accomplished its first flight. The Sukhoi Superjet 100 cruises at a Maximum Operating Speed of Mach 0.81 and 40,000 feet. It takes off from a 1,731 meters runway in the basic range and 2,052 meters in the long range. The operating range for the basic version is 3,048 km and 4,578 km for the long range version. In February 2011, the SSJ100 obtained the Type Certificate by the Russian Certification Authority IAC AR. The EASA certification is expected to follow in 2011. On April 19th 2011 first production SSJ100 was delivered to Armavia airlines (Armenia). There are currently four SSJ100s in service with Armavia and Aeroflot.

EASA certifies ‘night VFR operation’ for Tecnam P2002 analogue cockpit aeroplanes
The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) today issued Major Change Approval number 10034907, certifies ‘night VFR operation’’ for use in analogue versions of both Tecnam P2002JF and Tecnam P2002JR aeroplanes.
This major change approval follows on from EASA’s recent approval of the ‘VFR night package’ for Garmin 500 (G500) equipped Tecnam P2002JFs too.

Políticas de Defensa; 2. Cooperación Militar, Acciones Humanitarias y Operaciones de Paz; 3. Industria y Tecnología de Defensa; y 4. Formación y Capacitación.

November 23, 2011, Moscow — On November 21, 2011 the Sukhoi Superjet 100 flight prototype MSN95004 aircraft successfully performed first two automatic landings Cat IIIA with different configurations of the wing high-lift system on the airfield in Zhukovsky, Moscow Region. The aircraft was handled by the SCAC flight crew consisted of the Chief pilot Alexander Yablontsev and test pilot Vadim Shirokikh.
These flights marked the beginning of the new series of the development and certification tests for expanding operational conditions of the aircraft aiming to get Supplement to the SSJ100 Type Certificate in terms of the automatic landings Cat IIIA. This supplement will allow to perform automatic landings in the low visibility weather conditions (pilots may not apply controls) up to the moment when the aircraft starts to run along the runway.

Albacete, 24 de Noviembre de 2011 Eurocopter España ha presentado hoy el prototipo del helicóptero NH90 español en su factoría de Albacete. Fabricado en las instalaciones de Eurocopter en Marignane (Francia), este primer aparato conocido como GSPA01, llegó a la planta de Eurocopter España el pasado mes de julio, donde se llevan a cabo las labores de equipamiento y los ensayos en vuelo previos a su calificación por el Ministerio de Defensa español y su entrega a las Fuerzas Aeromóviles del Ejército de Tierra (FAMET), prevista para el primer trimestre de 2013.
En diciembre de 2006 el Ministerio de Defensa Español y Eurocopter España firmaron un contrato de adquisición de 45 helicópteros NH90 TTH de transporte táctico para las Fuerzas Armadas. Se iniciaba así el programa de renovación y modernización de la flota de helicópteros de transporte medio del Ministerio de Defensa, consolidando el papel de Eurocopter España en esa misión.
Si bien los dos primeros NH90 españoles han sido fabricados en la planta francesa de Eurocopter, Eurocopter España es responsable del montaje de los restantes 43 NH90, así como de la entrega de todos ellos a las Fuerzas Armadas Españolas. La factoría de Eurocopter España, ubicada en Albacete e inaugurada en 2007 es, además, una de las dos únicas plantas de fabricación del fuselaje delantero de este helícoptero, el más moderno de su categoría y del que se han realizado más de 500 pedidos en todo el mundo.
La variante española del NH90 cuenta con un motor General Electric CT7 8F5 de última generación, un sistema de comunicación personalizado y un sofisticado sistema de guerra electrónica desarrollado por Indra . Asimismo, el NH90 español, cuenta con un "software" de aviónica desarrollado por la Oficina de Proyectos de Eurocopter España.
El NH90 es un helicóptero bimotor polivalente, capaz de transportar un escuadrón de 16 a 20 soldados con sus equipos. La adaptabilidad a todo tipo de misiones, terrestres y navales, como transporte de tropas, operaciones anfibias, búsqueda y salvamento, recuperación de personal, evacuación de heridos y operaciones de contraterrorismo lo convierten en el helicóptero polivalente más avanzado del mundo. Entre sus capacidades tecnológicas destacan el pilotaje con mandos eléctricos (fly by wire) y la integración de materiales compuestos en su estructura, lo que reduce considerablemente la corrosión y alarga su ciclo de vida en servicio.
En su versión de transporte táctico (TTH), el NH90, acaba de obtener la declaración de conformidad de la Configuración Operativa Final (FOC), hito que da por concluida la fase de desarrollo del aparato.
Boeing Announces 787 Dream Tour
EVERETT, Wash., Nov. 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Boeing (NYSE: BA) soon will begin a six-month Dream Tour with its all-new 787 Dreamliner. Customers and partners around the world will experience the revolutionary technology and passenger innovation offered on the first new airplane of the 21st century.

"This airplane is now changing the way the world flies, and we want to share that excitement with as many people as we can."
The December schedule for the 787 Dream Tour includes six stops in Asia, Africa and the Middle East:
Dec. 4-11: China with stops in Beijing, Guangzhou and Haikou to visit customers, partners, and government officials including representatives from Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), Air China, China Southern, Hainan Airlines, Aviation Industries of China (AVIC) and Chengdu Aircraft Industrial Co. (CAC).
Dec. 11-16: Africa with stops in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and Nairobi, Kenya to visit Ethiopian Airlines and Kenya Airways.
Dec. 16-19: Middle East stop in Doha to visit Qatar Airways.
Specific dates for the subsequent segments of the tour will be announced about one month prior to the events. Additional tour stops are being planned for January through April 2012 and will be detailed in future announcements.
Many of the stops will include opportunities for local media to tour the airplane and talk with Boeing executives and pilots.

Dream Tour Airplane
The Dream Tour airplane, ZA003, has been retrofitted with special interior features designed to highlight the unique cabin features and performance capabilities of the Dreamliner. The flight test equipment on board ZA003, the third 787 to be built, has been removed and a stunning new interior has been installed. The airplane also has received a refreshed Boeing livery.
"Our flight test airplane has turned into a show piece," said Scott Fancher, vice president and general manager of the 787 program. "Anyone who has seen the inside of a flight test airplane will be amazed at the transformation. All of the 787 passenger features are here."
Visitors will be greeted by the spacious signature 787 entryway sky light and gathering area. The LED lighting, standard on all 787s, will be demonstrated throughout the tour airplane. Visitors will experience the dynamic affect of this new technology to make meal time more enjoyable, sooth passengers during restful periods and gently wake them following a long flight.
Visitors also will find a luxurious business-class cabin with a dozen lay-flat seats, an overhead crew rest compartment and an economy class section. A large open space between the two economy class sections allows Boeing to spotlight the features of the 787 with displays and demonstrations. The exterior of the airplane has been repainted in the standard Boeing livery.
Airbus Military begins final assembly of the first A400M for France / Airbus Military comienza el montaje final del primer A400M para Francia
Following the launch of A400M series production last February, Airbus Military has begun final assembly of the first A400M that will be delivered to a customer –the French Air Force. The fuselage for this aircraft, known as MSN7, arrived at the final assembly line in Seville (Spain) on board an Airbus Beluga. The wings and nose arrived some days earlier and the integration of the central box and outer wings has already begun. The horizontal tailplane (HTP) is expected next week and the vertical tailplane (VTP) in two weeks time.
France will receive its first A400M military airlifter around the turn of the year 2012/2013.
Eight serial A400M aircraft are already at different stages of production.

El fuselaje de este avión, conocido como MSN7, llegó a la línea de montaje final (FAL), ubicada en Sevilla, a bordo de un Airbus Beluga. Las alas y la proa llegaron hace unos días y ya ha comenzado la integración de las alas exteriores y el cajón central. El estabilizador horizontal (HTP, por sus iniciales en inglés) llegará a la FAL la próxima semana y el estabilizador vertical (VTP, por sus iniciales en inglés) lo hará en dos semanas.
Francia recibirá su primer A400M entre fin de 2012 y principios de 2013.

Airbus predicts Nordic carriers require over 420 aircraft worth US$38.6bn
Growth and replacement needs for more eco-efficient aircraft

According to the latest Airbus Global Market Forecast (GMF), Nordic airlines are predicted to require 424 new passenger aircraft between 2011 and 2030 with a value of US$ 38.6 billion.
These new aircraft deliveries will be dominated by single-aisles (365), such as Airbus' modern A320 Family. Airbus also forecasts a trend toward larger aircraft sizes as airlines seek to grow capacity efficiently, reduce seat mile costs and simultaneously their impact on the environment. There are 59 twin-aisle new aircraft deliveries forecast over the next 20 years in the Nordics, which will include types such as the A330 and A350 XWB. Around half of the new aircraft requirement for the region will be for the replacement of older less eco-efficient aircraft, and half will be for new aircraft as air travel continues to grow to and from the Nordics.
The Airbus forecast for the Nordic region is based on an analysis of seven countries, where over 50 airlines operate some 302 passenger aircraft today.
Air traffic to, from and within the Nordics has increased by 67% since 2001 with an increase of 87% in international traffic. As well as connecting the region to the rest of Europe and the world, tourism is becoming increasingly important, with its share of GDP in Nordics, expected to reach 6.5% in 2020 compared to 5.6% today.
Driven by tourism, advanced economies with a high standard of living and further developments in the low cost market, Airbus forecasts that the Nordics will average an annual passenger traffic growth rate of 4.0%. This figure is above other developed aviation markets such as North America (2.5%, domestic) and in line with Western Europe (3.5%, inter regionally).
"The aircraft fleet serving the Nordic market will grow from ~300 aircraft today, to more than 500 over the next 20 years, an increase of aircraft in service of 70%", says Christopher Emerson, Senior Vice President Product Strategy & Market Forecast, Airbus. "This translates into a large demand for more aircraft, which Airbus is well positioned to supply with its range of modern eco-efficient planes".
