• Cástor Fantoba y Camilo Benito son los pilotos españoles que competirán a partir del 16 de agosto en Polonia
• El campeonato contará con 38 pilotos de 13 países, entre los que destacan Martin Sonka, Rob Holland, Mikaël Brageot y Louis Vanel.

Madrid/Zamosc (Polonia), 13 de agosto de 2024 – El Equipo Nacional de Vuelo Acrobático de España (ENVA) estará presente junto a otros 12 combinados internacionales para disputar el Mundial de Vuelo Acrobático, organizado por la FAI (Fédération Aéronautique Internationale), en Zamosc (Polonia). El 32º FAI World Aerobatic Championships (WAC) se celebrará del 15 al 25 de agosto de 2024 y contará con los mejores 38 pilotos internacionales.

Cástor Fantoba y Camilo Benito serán los representantes españoles en el WAC 2024, aunque sin la opción de defender su actual título de subcampeones del mundo dado que en esta ocasión no se ha podido completar el equipo nacional, y buscarán luchar por las medallas en las categorías de Ilimitado y Freestyle.

Los pilotos españoles se preparan para enfrentar una competencia de altísimo nivel en la próxima cita internacional de acrobacia aérea. Entre los adversarios más destacados se encuentran figuras de renombre mundial, como el checo Martin Šonka, el talentoso y múltiple campeón de freestyle Rob Holland de EEUU, y los franceses Mikaël Brageot y Louis Vanel, quienes han demostrado un desempeño excepcional en anteriores competiciones internacionales. El evento comprende cuatro vuelos de dificultad creciente, en la especialidad de Clásico y un vuelo libre de Freestyle de 4 minutos para determinar los mejores pilotos del mundo individuales y por equipos, título que ostentará el ganador durante 2 años.

Perfiles de los pilotos españoles

Cástor Fantoba Lerendegui. Natural de Sangüesa (Navarra), es un referente mundial en acrobacia aérea con más de dos décadas de experiencia. Ha representado a España en múltiples campeonatos internacionales, destacándose por su habilidad técnica y creatividad en el aire. En el WAC 2022, Fantoba obtuvo una destacada sexta posición individual con una puntuación total de 16.196 puntos, consolidándose como uno de los grandes referentes de la acrobacia aérea de categoría mundial. Además de su participación en competiciones, Fantoba realiza exhibiciones aéreas a nivel nacional e internacional, mostrando su destreza y pasión por la aviación acrobática.

Camilo Benito, marbellí de adopción, es una de las jóvenes promesas de la acrobacia aérea española. Con una carrera en ascenso, Benito ha demostrado su talento y dedicación en varias competiciones internacionales. En el WAC 2022, Benito finalizó en la trigésimo primera posición con 13.096,66 puntos. Además de competir, participa en exhibiciones aéreas, y da formación de vuelo en el CAVA.
