Eglin flies 200th F-35 sortie - The DEW Line

The pace of training at the base is ramping up,
the jets no longer need a chase plane and they'll
soon be doing aerial refuelings. The Marines are
also gearing up to train for short take-off and
vertical landing operations. So things are coming
along at the 33 rd Fighter Wing using the "crawl,
walk, run" methodology.
Here are some photos from today's flight.
Also, in case you guys were wondering how the
US Navy is going to supply ALQ-99 jammer pods
to Australia... They're going to be giving them
refurbished pods, but the low band jammers are
going to be new.

Neil Amstrong muere a los 82 años:
Neil Amstrong, pronunciara o no la frase “Un pequeño paso para el hombre, un gran paso para la humanidad” (unos dicen que dijo "un hombre" otros dicen que dijo "el hombre", será siempre recordado por ella. Por ser el primer hombre en poner el pie en la Luna, y por haber sido inspirador de muchos jóvenes a la hora de decidir sobre su futura carrera profesional, o haber servido como ejemplo en multitud de clases de ciencia, de historia, o tal vez momentos de crisis. Amstrong, profesor de universidad, ingeniero aeroespacial, piloto de caza, piloto de ensayos,  y astronauta“partió hacia el oeste”, como se decía en la Primera Guerra Mundial, este fin de semana, a la edad de 82 años debido a una complicaciones tras una operación cardiovascular para eliminar una obstrucción arterial.

RyanAir, o los procedimientos presuntamente
engañosos de pago con tarjeta, o las
limitaciones de equipaje, o la forma en que
presuntamente se trata a algunos de sus
empleados, o como presiona a operadores de
aeropuertos para obtener privilegios, pero están
en su completo derecho de exprimir a quien se
deje siempre y cuando cumplan con todas las
leyes, tanto de índole laboral como por supuesto
de seguridad aérea.
Pero aunque una compañia nos caiga
especialmente mal (y es obvio que RyanAir se
lleva varios premios en esta categoria), no se
pueden andar soltando todo tipo de
barbaridades en los medios como las que se
están oyendo y leyendo en el ultimo mes con
respecto a lo sucedido el pasado dia 26 de Julio.

If at first you don't succeed, make it harder then try again. That seems to be the premise behind the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency's new Integrated Hypersonics (IH) program.
IH is a follow-on to DARPA's Falcon program, which failed in two attempts to fly the HTV-2 hypersonic glider. So much of a follow-on, in fact, that the IH program is to begin with a third flight of the HTV-2.
The new program is planned to culminate in 2017 with the flight of the Hypersonic X-Plane (HX), to demonstrate technology not only for a prompt global strike weapon, but potentially hypersonic aircraft missions "such as time-critical, survivable transport", says DARPA.
