Spain, Bolivia clash over Bolivian airport nationalization

jueves, 7 de marzo de 2013

panish infrastructure company Abertis has rejected Bolivian government claims that it failed to fulfill investment commitments in the country's airports.

Bolivian President Evo Morales on Feb. 18 cited claims to justify his nationalization of domestic airport operator SABSA, which operates Bolivia's three principal airports: La Paz, Santa Cruz, and Cochabamba.

SABSA was 90% owned by Abertis and 10% by Spain's airport and air navigation services provider, AENA.  It is the latest in a series of expropriations of Spanish-owned companies in Bolivia, which has angered the Spanish government.
