Carlos Lozano, estudiante de la Escuela de Aeronáuticos de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, ha sido premiado por sus investigaciones en el diseño de hélices para futuros coches voladores y de palas para helicópteros. La Conferencia de Estudiantes de la AIAA (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics) ha reconocido el trabajo de Lozano con el primer premio en categoría de "equipo" y el tercero en la "individual".
El proyecto que presentó junto a otros dos estudiantes en la categoría de equipo ha recibido 500 dólares. En él, han comparado la utilización de cuatro tipos diferentes de pala de helicóptero: una rectangular y plana, otra con un diseño inspirado en un ala de insecto, una más con un perfil aerodinámico y, la última, con un tubo alrededor, para encontrar el diseño óptimo.

Los premios, señala la nota de prensa de la UPM, incluyen también una invitación financiada para presentar los proyectos en la Conferencia Internacional de la AIAA Scitech 2015, que se celebrará en enero de 2015 en Florida (EE.UU.)

Renault ha anunciado esta semana la próxima contratación de 67 ingenieros para el centro de I+D+i que posee la compañía en Valladolid, en el que se van a desarrollar este año 267 nuevos proyectos.
El director de Fabricación y Logística del Grupo Renault y presidente de Renault-España, José Vicente de los Mozos, ha anunciado esta semana la próxima contratación de 67 ingenieros para el centro de I+D+i que posee la compañía en Valladolid, en el que se van a desarrollar este año 267 nuevos proyectos.
Estas contrataciones, informa Europa Press, se suman a los 450 contratos anunciados ayer para la planta de Carrocerías-Montaje de Valladolid y a los 55 confirmados recientemente para la factoría de Motores.
De los Mozos realizó el anuncio con motivo de la visita del ministro de Economía, Luis de Guindos, al Centro de I+D+i de Valladolid.

Para Austro Control los hechos ocurridos los pasados días 5 y 10 de este mes no tienen precedentes. Según la agencia AP, la información sobre altitud, ubicación, identificación y otro tipo de datos de un total de 13 aviones desapareció repentinamente sobre Austria en ambas ocasiones durante aproximadamente 25 minutos.

"It is an interesting idea, we go back and forth on it," Airbus Chief Operating Officer Customers John Leahy said at the company's Innovation Days in Toulouse. But so far the company does not appear to be very close to a decision, and Leahy hinted that it "may not happen by Farnborough." One factor influencing the decision is to what extent the A330neo would cannibalize the A350. The smallest version of the family, the A350-800, may be most affected. But Airbus may well decide it can happily live without the -800.
Leahy also argues that while the Boeing 787 has around 1,000 nm more range, the A330neo could cover around 90% of routes and given the lower capital costs of the A330 "it will be a very interesting equation."
