Airbus Group ha iniciado la construcción de su nuevo Campus de oficinas en el aeropuerto de Toulouse/Blagnac (Francia), con una ceremonia inaugural dirigida por el máximo responsable ejecutivo, Tom Enders. Más de 1.500 personas trabajarán en ese lugar, que albergará la sede central del Grupo. Una vez terminado, estará compuesto por varios edificios: la sede central, con una superficie de 10.000 m2., un edificio de oficinas para funciones de apoyo y servicios compartidos, que ocuparán 19.500, y una sala de control de seguridad. La Federación Europea de Asociaciones de Ingenieros Consultores (EFCA) respalda la petición de Tecniberia (la patronal tecnológica y de ingeniería) al Gobierno español para que equipare los títulos de ingeniería superior obtenidos con los planes de estudio anteriores al Plan Bolonia con el nivel actual de Máster.
La Federación Europea de Asociaciones de Ingenieros Consultores (EFCA) respalda la petición de Tecniberia (la patronal tecnológica y de ingeniería) al Gobierno español para que equipare los títulos de ingeniería superior obtenidos con los planes de estudio anteriores al Plan Bolonia con el nivel actual de Máster.
En dicha carta, informa Tecniberia en una nota de prensa, la Federación Europea insta al gobierno español a adaptar lo antes posible la situación española a la realidad de otros países de la UE e insiste en que se trata de algo "fundamental para la movilidad y la competitividad de las empresas españolas de ingeniería en el mercado internacional".
En la carta, señala LaInformacion.com, se alerta de que en los trabajos en el extranjero se exigía el nuevo título, aunque en España la falta de homologación de los títulos a la normativa europea no genera inconvenientes para el ejercicio de la profesión. Para Tecniberia y EFCA, la falta de respuesta del Gobierno perjudica "gravemente" las expectativas de contratación de las empresas españolas de ingeniería en el extranjero, que ven reducidas sus opciones de internacionalización, o se ven obligadas a contratar a ingenieros de otras nacionalidades, según lamentan en un comunicado.

Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) mostrará el nuevo helicóptero de ataque T129 durante el Bahrain International Air Show.
El T129 es una modificación del A129 para operar en condiciones hot & high.
Los próximos 16 al 18 de enero se celebrará en Bahrain el Bahrain International Air Show, una de cuyas estrella será el helicóptero de ataque desarrollado en Turquía TAI T129 ATAK.
Se trata de una adaptación local realizada por Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) a partir del AgustaWestland A129 Mangusta para adecuarlo a las necesidades de las fuerzas armadas turcas con nuevos equipos y armamento.
Así, respecto al A129, el T129 cuenta con nueva aviónica; motores LHTEC CTS-800 4A de 1.361 shp de potencia unitaria,con nueva transmisión y rotor de cola; modificaciones en el fuselaje y, como hemos citado, nuevo sistema de armas, compuesto -además de por el cañón frontal de 20 mm con 500 proyectiles, por dos lanzadores para cuatro misiles UMTAS ATGM; cuatro lanzadores de 19 cohetes no guiados de 70 mm; cuatro lanzadores de cuatro cohetes guiados CIROT de 70 mm o dos lanzadores de misiles ATAM Stinger.
Con un peso máximo de 5000 kg, el T129 puede volar a 145 nudos con un alcance de 561 km y una autonomía de 3 horas.

El Grupo de Investigación de Navegación Aérea de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid participa en el proyecto europeo In2sai, que quiere fomentar la presencia de las mujeres en los estudios y en la industria aeronáutica.
Seis países y siete organizaciones europeas conforman "In2sai" (Increasing Young Women's Participation in Science Studies and in the Aeronautic Industry, Aumento de la participación de mujeres jóvenes en estudios de ciencia y en la industria aeronáutica), un proyecto que se enmarca en los denominados Erasmus Multilateral Projects de la Comisión Europea.
A nivel europeo, señala la nota de prensa de la UPM, la presencia de la mujer en los estudios universitarios de ámbito científico y más concretamente en los referidos al sector aeroespacial es tan baja que solo el 15% de personas que trabajan en la industria aeroespacial europea son mujeres.
En el caso de la ingeniería aeronáutica, en los diez centros universitarios (públicos y privados) en que se imparte, sólo uno de cada cuatro estudiantes de nuevo ingreso es mujer.
Los profesores e investigadores de la UPM implicados en este proyecto coinciden en señalar que "hay que focalizar la atención en la Escuela, pues la falta de interés por estas ramas de estudio universitarias se extrapolan después a la integración en la industria". Uno de los aspectos más controvertidos del proyecto será intentar conocer las carencias que pueden tener los programas formativos ofertados hasta el momento para discernir por qué no los eligen las alumnas.

Este taller-seminario forma parte de un elaborado proyecto, desde el que pretendemos ayudar, de un modo ameno y participativo, a superar los temores que tienen lugar a hora de tomar un vuelo.
Durante aproximadamente 3 horas, asistirás a una conferencia impartida por una técnico de vuelo que explicará los sistemas de seguridad, ruidos e incidencias técnicas habituales que pueden acontecer en vuelo, así como su sencilla resolución. Del mismo modo se indicará a los asistentes todos los servicios a los que tienen derecho en vuelo y se permitirá un espacio para dudas y consultas.
Tras su ponencia, una psicóloga-coach mostrará unas interesantes técnicas de relajación útiles para aplicar en la aeronave en caso de crisis de ansiedad, así como algunos otros métodos de control del miedo.

Details are still coming in, but according to @scottDallasTX and other media sources, Southwest Flight 3014, from Chicago (Midway) landed at the wrong Branson, MO airport this evening (cause there are tons of Branson airports). Again, details are coming, but it appears they landed at the College of the Ozarks airport (PLK), with only a 3700′ runway. Does anybody know – is that long enough for a 737 t0 take off?
This is strangely reminiscent of the situation last month where a Boeing 747 Dreamlifter, operated by Atlas Air, landed at the wrong airport in Wichita. When fields are in close proximity, mistakes can happen.
